Three months of carefree summer vacation are coming to an end, and September 1 is coming.
We have prepared practical tips to help parents adapt their children to school days more easily and inspire them to learn.
1. Setting the regime.
Over the summer, children have a disrupted study routine: they go to bed later and get up later, and sometimes even sleep less than they should. So a week before school start explain to your child that you start to adjust to school routine and now you will go to bed and get up earlier. This is needed in order to come to class rested and collected.
2. Go into the new school year with new things.
Use the start of the new school year as an opportunity to update the workspace where your child will be studying and buy everything she needs for school. Clean up the desk. We also recommend going shopping with your child. Let him/her choose new pens, pencils, notebooks, and all the things he/she will need for school. It will bring him/her a lot of pleasure and cause positive associations with the beginning of the school year.
Since children are actively growing in the summer, make sure that your child has clothes and shoes that are appropriate for his or her size in advance. Requirements for school clothes vary from school to school, but in general we recommend choosing comfortable and practical clothes, pleasant to the body, which will not restrict the movements of the child. Remember that schoolchildren are recommended to have several sets of clothes for every season, as well as uniforms for physical education classes and work study. It would be great if the child could choose all the necessary things for himself.
3. Repeat what we have learned.
After three months of rest it may be difficult for children to remember the material they learned last school year. Since their knowledge has gone into "dormant mode," the first months of the new school year will be spent "rocking out”.
To help children refresh their knowledge, start repeating what they learned a few weeks before school.
4․ Teach your child to plan their time and allocate energy and time to get the best results, to learn new knowledge, and to have free time to play and relax.
5. Arrange little holidays more often. For example, you can think as a family about what rewards await those who studied well at the end of the month: a trip to the park, to the movies, activities with friends, etc.
Hopefully, the tips from this article will help your child start the new school year easily.
